Brett and Jessica have been married for 20 years and have 3 kids; our oldest loves cheering for sports and the other 2 love playing them. Jessica is a country girl, so they have 8 dogs (5 labs and 3 French Bulldogs), 3 cats, and lots of chickens and ducks. She's always cold, so doesn’t know why she's lived in Nebraska her whole life, except that her whole family is here (and family is everything). But she kinda wishes they all lived in Florida, instead. ☀️

FCA:
- Why did you join FCA? The most influential part of my life is my faith, but what I learned about life through being an athlete and playing for amazing Christian coaches also had a hugely positive impact on me. I believe sports are about so much more than the sport itself and the coaches who are with the athletes everyday have the opportunity to be a positive life changing influence on those athletes. I want to be a part of that.
- What is your favorite FCA memory? Being at the Weekend of Champions this year and seeing the kids dancing and singing and seeing the pure joy radiating off of them as they worshipped - it was inspiring!
- What is your passion within FCA? My passion is helping others realize that their purpose and value comes straight from God, not from this world. It doesn’t have to be earned or proven on the court or the field because it’s always been there, simply because God created them and loves them. If I can help coaches to understand that and coach from that perspective and to teach that to their athletes, I truly believe it will change the world.
More:
- What did you want to be when you grew up? A veterinarian
- If the Lord gave you a new calling outside of FCA, what do you think it would be? Well, so far I’ve been a vet tech, a nurse, a photographer, a business owner, a concrete worker, an upholstery assistant, a varsity coach, and a marketing director… I feel like nothing would surprise me at this point!! Hopefully next time He gives me a new calling it will involve a beach, a book, and ice cream 😆**
- What is your favorite Scripture? Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do and He will guide your paths."
*Mikal (the web content person) believes this is a very good, yummy choice and wholeheartedly approves.
**While the web content person prefers mountains and ALL THE SNOW, a book and ice cream is a GLORIOUS calling! 🤣
