As a coach or athlete, it can feel as if the demands never stop. The training, practicing, planning and strategizing keep you hustling and operating at a pace that is difficult to thrive in. Although these things, in the right measure, are necessary to compete at a high level, the pace is not always sustainable. How do you handle the overwhelming demands of a "24/7" sports culture? There's no time to waste, right? Someone is always working harder, training longer, spending more hours watching game film, and prepping for the next game, race, meet or competition.
The reality is that your life doesn't have to be overrun by the pressures to keep up and prove your worth. The pressures and stakes may always be high, but how you respond doesn't have to remain unchanged. The 24/7 "with God" life is available — you just have to slow down long enough to receive what He's ready to give you.
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).

For yourself or for your student-athletes, FCA Bible studies engage, equip, and empower you and your student-athletes to "Go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19).
The more time we spend learning and practicing the play, the greater the play will be executed. There are many accounts of Jesus spending time with His Father—who guided and directed His life on earth—Jesus was often found praying and recounting God’s Word.
If we want to change our view on how we approach competition and aim to execute the play for something greater than ourselves, we must spend time reading God’s Word and in prayer.
When we play for something greater, we have the ability to play beyond right now.
Following Jesus and growing in the strength that He gives us requires time spent with Him. But it doesn't stop there. We have a game plan for coaches and athletes who want to start making disciples — it's called E3. Whether you’ve led others before and you’re looking for some additional training, or you’re just getting started, the E3 training gives you tangible steps you can take to start making disciples.
